I think you definitely get it.

The imposter syndrome is such a nefarious, little beast. It seems to have some innate ability to squirm around and hide again, even after being spotted.

I spent a lot of time trying to call in the exterminators. Now, I just try to acknowledge and accept the little, slimy bugger. Hey, maybe I should name him! Melvin. Yeah. Definitely a whiny, little Melvin.
