I sit alone in the darkness

watching the flames leap

and flicker

The flames rest and I am joined

by another like me

in solitude

But our hearts are not dark

but holding to the light

together

A gust sends us dancing

and another joins and

another

We are lit and shining

bright and unified

all of us.
